It all began in 1988, when watchmaker Daniel Roth founded his own eponymous house, becoming one of the pioneers of independent watchmaking. True to his favourite complication, the tourbillon, he chose to house it in an original double-ellipse case, a shape that would go on to become the brand’s design signature. That same year, a 25-piece subscription order from Asprey of London immediately put Daniel Roth on the front scene of independent watchmaking.
Ever since, every Daniel Roth watch has embodied this philosophy: “La Montre Objet d’Art”, a tribute to traditional high watchmaking where the hand of the artisan comes before serial production.
